Polindo Utama was established in 2005 and has since become a leading manufacturer of recycled PET flakes and polyester chips in Indonesia. Due to our implementation of the highest standards in quality control, our environmentally friendly products have been utilized for a wide-range of industries from textiles to food packaging across markets in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia; making us a major contributor to the reduction of microplastics pollution.
Global Recycling Standard Certified
Polindo Utama has received the certificate of compliance for Global Recycling Standards. The GRS is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets out requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions. The goal of the GRS is to increase use of recycled materials in products and reduce/eliminate the harm caused by its production.
Our close cooperation with our sister companies allows us to effectively integrate our downstream and upstream business operations, resulting in Polindo Utama being able to produce more than 3,000 metric tonnes of recycled PET flakes per month. We are already producing our own food-grade packaging for renowned local food and beverage companies through a mixture of recycled and virgin PET flakes.

Streamlined Supply Chain
As part of our streamlined supply chain, we have established more than 30 recycling centres located in villages and suburbs across the country which provides us better access to raw materials. Through these centres, we empower local communities by providing job opportunities as well as play an important role in educating people on the importance of plastic recycling. Furthermore, we engage with many multinational companies who are eager to participate in plastic recycling as part of their CSR programs in addition to those wanting to improve their plastic waste management. This proactive approach is not only a cost-effective approach for businesses, but it also benefits our raw material supply to produce products such as textile yarn and bottles.
